Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you use this website or purchase and use a PostDeploy Pro license.
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are between you and PostDeploy ("we", "us"), based in the United States. By visiting this website, downloading the free PostDeploy plugin, or purchasing and using a PostDeploy Pro license, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site or the plugin.
What we provide
PostDeploy Free is distributed through WordPress.org under the GPLv2 (or later) license, as required by the WordPress.org plugin directory. PostDeploy Pro is a separate, commercially licensed plugin sold directly by us through Freemius, that you install on WordPress sites you control or are authorized to administer.
License to use PostDeploy Pro
When you purchase PostDeploy Pro, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the plugin on the number of sites your plan allows, for as long as your license is active (see the docs for what "active" affects). PHP/JavaScript code you write yourself that calls the plugin's own public APIs is yours; the plugin's own code remains our property and, per Freemius's standard terms for commercial plugins, is licensed to you rather than sold outright as GPL code.
Acceptable use
- You will only connect sites you own or are authorized to administer. PostDeploy is a tool for moving content between your own sites — using it against a site you don't have permission to modify is your responsibility, not something we endorse or support.
- You won't reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell PostDeploy Pro's licensed code outside of what your license and Freemius's terms allow.
- You won't use the plugin to migrate content that infringes someone else's rights, or that violates applicable law.
Payment, billing, and Freemius
All purchases, subscriptions, invoices, and license management are handled by our licensing provider, Freemius, acting as the merchant of record. Their own terms apply to the checkout and billing process itself; see the customer portal to manage your subscription. Refunds are covered separately in our Refund Policy.
No warranty
PostDeploy Free and Pro are provided "as is". We work to keep migrations accurate and reversible (see the deployment-verification and rollback features described on the product page), but we don't guarantee the plugin will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for every possible WordPress setup, theme, or third-party plugin combination. Always keep your own backups before migrating content, as you would with any tool that writes to a WordPress database.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the plugin or this website, including lost content, lost revenue, or site downtime. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the license in the 12 months before the claim. [Adjust this section to match your actual jurisdiction's consumer-protection rules before publishing — some rights can't be limited by contract.]
Termination
We may suspend or terminate a license if these Terms are violated (for example, sharing a license key beyond its site limit, or reselling the plugin without authorization). You may stop using the plugin and cancel your subscription at any time through the customer portal.
Changes to these terms
If these Terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site or plugin after a change means you accept the update.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
